History/Founders

It began as a conversation at a meeting of Pittsburgh Hackers when an event was being discussed by Tree Pittsburgh that combined the work of artists and computer geeks. I said "Sounds like a festival to me." And you know what happens when you make a suggestion at a meeting.....
The Geek Art/Green Innovators Festival (GAGI FEST) premiered in 2010 as the first Pittsburgh community event to join World Environment Day in 2010.  Since then, we have had hundreds of artists participate, dozens of scientists and universities, non profits and governmental agencies come to share their work, their passions and their future projects.

See every GA/GI @ https://gagifestival.blogspot.com/ our archives.
